InsideJunto: July 2015

Posted by Caroline Rafferty on July 28, 2015

Despite the rest and relaxation of Chicago’s summer months, there has been a lot of recent activity with the JuntoCompanies and members of the JuntoTribe.

Congratulations to Kilton Hopkins (JuntoI), who recently co-founded a new Internet of Things startup in Palo Alto, iotracks, which is raising a $2 million seed round from angel investors nationwide. iotracks integrates and transports information from a multitude of sensors and all with real-time performance. It also correlates the streams of contextual information to discover, diagnose, and take appropriate actions.

Congratulations to Tiesta Tea (JuntoI) on hiring their tenth employee.

Kudos to Paul Caswell of Weave the People (JuntoI) for his blog post, "Tapping into the Power of Amazement."

Congratulations to John Williamson (JuntoI with MusicDealers), now with Sportslock, which raised their Series A round of funding and was featured in Forbes.

Kudos to Spikeball (JuntoII) for being featured in the Chicago Tribune and Crain’s Chicago Business (thanks for the Junto mention!), and appearing on Windy City Live, a daytime talk show.

A BIG congrats to Mark Murrell of GetMaineLobster (JuntoII) on getting married this summer.

Congratulations to KnowledgeHound (JuntoIII) on hiring a new developer, publishing their most recent blog post, "The New CRM - Consumer Relationship Management", and for all the press on their $1.2 million seed round. Check out the articles inCrains Chicago, Chicago Tribune, ChicagoInno, Tech Cocktail, and more.

Shout out to Andrew Parnell of Earlybird (JuntoIII), who was interviewed at the Funding Feeding Frenzy on 6/11.

If your startup is looking for space, JuntoPartner Catapult Chicago (where Junto is located), has both small and large offices opening up from now through the end of the year.

Kudos to JuntoInstructor, Jay Goltz, for his appearance on "Your Business with JJ Ramberg" on MSNBC.
